Dim Sum Buffet at Excelsior Hotel

I just went to this chinese dim sum ala carte buffet with my friend not long ago... oh man, I will definitely visit it again.

The name of the restaurant is River City Restaurant. It is located at Excelsior Hotel Singapore which is walking distance from funan IT mall and peninsular plaza... so the nearest mrt station you will stop at will be city hall.. Anyway.. when I first entered into the restaurant with my friends.. I was having second thoughts.. coz the place looks kind of old.. and the hotel looks kind of shabby too.. but I still went ahead with it.. coz its pretty cheap.. think is bout $13.80+++ per pax on weekends and $10.80+++ on weekdays..

The buffet is from i think 11.30am to 2 pm.. and they have a standard ala carte menu so you can order from them as many as you want...

Hmm.. talking bout the food.. DELICIOUS.. hot and steaming xiao long bao that scalded my tongue when i was greedily sucking in the juicy soup. hmm... other than that.. their cha shao su (bbq pastry) was so crispy and yummy.. even their carrot cake tasted soo.. fantastic..

we ordered many many plates of the dim sum.. the chicken feet.. the siew mai.. the ha gao... oh man.. couldnt get enough.. not forgetting to mention their guo tie (fried dumpling).. which is one of the must try too.. so lucky i went with a group of frens.. so we got to try abit of everything!!

The only thing that I dont like there was this vegetable dumpling thingy.. cant really remember the name.. but the rest of them were like so super delicious.. *stomach groans* We ate alot that day and ended the sumptuous meal with a dessert.. 3 kinds to choose from.. mango pudding, herbal jelly or red bean soup.. I ordered the herbal jelly and specifically mentioned that I wan lots lots of honey... and the service was great.. cause they really gave me lots of honey!! cheers!!

It is really a must try buffet dim sum at this cheap price and yet so delicious food with good service.. HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED.. hmmm...

Went to Dragon Gate restaurant (subsidiary of orient ocean @ miramar hotel and river city @ excelsior hotel), but this restaurant is a tad more ex than the rest but here it goes..

Its buffet ala carte. meaning u can order nonstop and yes nonstop till they stop serving or tell u they run out of fishes etc

End up per pax around $32 i think.. Quite ex compared to other branches but here it goes!

[i know 1 buibui gonna say the food in these places sucks, but each our own, to me its good enough, mouth ot so elite]
